
Harriet Sergeant
Harriet is a journalist and author of four books. Her first book by Jonathan Cape in 1985 investigated apartheid in South Africa. Her last, Among the Hoods published by Faber in 2012, describes her now fifteen year friendship with a south London gang. Harriet has written six Think Tank reports. Wasted – the betrayal of white working class and black Caribbean boys was an in-depth investigation into why we fail these young men and turn them to criminality. Her work is based on academic research and extensive interviews.
Harriet has written for the Sunday Times, the Financial Times, the Daily Mail, the Sun, the Spectator and Standpoint. She am a regular contributor to TV and radio and have appeared on Any Questions, Question Time, Newsnight, Today and GB News amongst others as well as the Sky Paper Review.
