Dr Abby Hall Blanco
Abigail Hall is an Associate Professor of Economics at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. She is an affiliated scholar with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, an affiliated scholar with the Foundation for Economic Education, and a Research Fellow with the Independent Institute. She earned her PhD in Economics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia in 2015.
Hall is the coauthor of Manufacturing Militarism: U.S. Government Propaganda in The War On Terror, forthcoming with Stanford University Press. Her coauthored work, Tyranny Comes Home: The Domestic Fate of U.S. Militarism, was publish with Stanford University Press in 2018. Hall’s body of work includes more than 25 scholarly articles and book chapters. Her popular writings have been featured in outlets such as Forbes, The Huffington Post, US News and World Report, and The Hill.
Her broader research interests include Austrian Economics, Political Economy, and Defense and Peace Economics. Her work includes topics surrounding U.S. national defense and militarism, including, police militarization, domestic extremism, propaganda, drone warfare, and the impacts of foreign conflict on domestic institutions.
